Notes

  • Work in continuous spirals; do not join rounds or turn your work unless specified in the pattern.
  • Use a stitch marker or piece of yarn to mark the end or beginning of a round. Move the marker up after completing each round.
  • All stitches are worked through both loops unless otherwise specified in the pattern.
  • Ensure your stitches are tight enough to create a firm fabric that prevents stuffing from showing through.
  • You can use the same pattern to make larger or smaller toys by using thinner or bulkier yarn. Choose a hook at least one size smaller than suggested on the yarn label, and maintain tight tension to avoid gaps. You may also need to adjust the eye size.

Required Materials

  • YarnArt Jeans yarn (50g / 160m) - Light gray (80) - 1 skein.
  • Alize gold cotton yarn (100g / 330m) - Milky (62) - 1 skein.

  • Fiberfill (hollow fiber, polyester stuffing, etc.)

Assembly:

With wrong sides (!) of both parts (milky and gray) facing each other, begin crocheting the edge to join them (this will be Rnd 7).

Rnd 7: 3 sc, 1 inc, (5 sc, inc) x 5, 2 sc (42)
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly and Design

  • Sew the trunk between Rnds 12–13 of the head.
  • Create eye holes: Follow photos for guidance. Insert the needle from the bottom center of the head, leaving the yarn tail outside. Pull the needle up to Rnd 12, 1 sc away from the trunk. Skip 1 sc toward the trunk and insert the needle again. Exit at the original point. Tie the yarn ends to adjust eye depth.
  • Glue the eyes into the holes. Let dry for 10–15 minutes before detailing.
  • Embroider eye corners to define the shape.
  • Embroider eyebrows 1 row above the eyes.
  • Optional smile: Stitch slightly below the trunk. Insert the needle from the bottom of the mouth and pull up where the curve will be (keep yarn under the needle). Tighten gently to form the smile. Secure and hide the yarn.
  • Trunk stripes: Embroider three stripes, spaced 2 rows apart.
  • Attach ears: Pin first, then sew between Rnds 7–13 of the head.
  • Sew head to body.
  • Attach arms and legs: Use yarn to sew arms to Rnds 17–18 and legs to Rnds 7–8 of the body.
  • Tail: Insert the hook under a stitch in Rnd 9, pull up a loop, and chain 6. Work 5 sc starting from the second chain. Sl st back to the starting point. Fasten off.
  • Tail tuft: Cut four 5 cm strands of yarn and attach to the tail tip like a fringe (see photo). Trim excess.
  • Belly button: Embroider a small cross at Rnds 8–9.
  • Cheeks: Lightly shade with pink/red pastel.
