  • Safety eyes (10-12mm)
  • Felt (white and gray)
  • Sewing needle
  • Stuffing (polyfill)
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue (optional)

Body (Yellow)

  • ROUND 1: Make a magic ring and crochet 6 single crochet (sc). Close with a slip stitch (sl st).
  • ROUND 2: 1 increase in each stitch (12 sc).
  • ROUND 3: 1 sc, 1 increase around (18 sc).
  • ROUND 4: 2 sc, 1 increase around (24 sc).
  • ROUND 5: 3 sc, 1 increase around (30 sc).
  • ROUNDS 6-7: 2 rounds of 30 sc (no increases).
  • ROUNDS 8-9: Switch to black and crochet 2 rounds of 30 sc.
  • ROUNDS 10-19: Switch back to yellow and crochet 10 rounds of 30 sc.
  • ROUND 20: 3 sc, 1 decrease around (24 sc).
  • ROUND 21: 2 sc, 1 decrease around (18 sc).
  • ROUND 22: 1 sc, 1 decrease around (12 sc).
  • ROUND 23: Decrease every stitch (6 sc).

Stuff the head and continue decreasing to close. Cut yarn and weave in ends.

Eyes (Make 2)

With gray yarn:

  • ROUND 1: Magic ring, 7 sc. Close with sl st.
  • ROUND 2: 1 increase in each stitch (14 sc).
  • ROUND 3: 1 round of 14 half double crochet (hdc) in back loops only for texture.

Cut a white felt circle for the eye interior and attach with glue or needle felting. Insert safety eyes (10-12mm) and secure with glue.

Arms (Make 2)

With black yarn:

  • ROUND 1: Magic ring, 6 sc. Close with sl st.
  • ROUND 2: 1 sc, 1 increase around (9 sc).
  • ROUNDS 3-4: 2 rounds of 9 sc.
  • ROUND 5: 1 sc, 1 decrease around (6 sc).
  • ROUNDS 6-9: Switch to yellow, crochet 4 rounds of 6 sc.

Stuff and close. Sew arms to ROUND 14 of the body.

Overalls (Blue)

  • ROUND 1: Magic ring, 6 sc. Close with sl st.
  • ROUND 2: 1 increase in each stitch (12 sc).
  • ROUND 3: 1 sc, 1 increase around (18 sc).
  • ROUND 4: 2 sc, 1 increase around (24 sc).
  • ROUND 5: 3 sc, 1 increase around (30 sc).
  • ROUND 6: 9 sc, 1 increase around (33 sc).
  • (Note: If too tight, do 4 sc, 1 increase for 36 sc.)
  • ROUNDS 7-9: 3 rounds of 33 sc (or 36 sc if adjusted).
  • ROUND 10 (Straps):
    • Crochet 8 sc, turn and work 8 sc back.
    • Chain 19, work 18 sc over chain.
    • Skip 1 st, crochet 6 sc.
    • Repeat for second strap.
Attach to Minion after sewing "bumps."

Additional Notes:

Size Adjustment: If the overalls feel too tight on the Minion's body, you can increase the number of stitches in ROUND 6 by doing 4 sc, 1 increase instead of 9 sc, 1 increase. This will give you 36 stitches instead of 33, making the overalls looser.

Feet (Make 2)

With black yarn:

  • ROUND 1: Magic ring, 6 sc. Close with sl st.
  • ROUND 2: 1 sc, 1 increase around (9 sc).
  • ROUND 3: 1 round of 9 half double crochet (hdc) in back loops only.
  • ROUND 4: 3 sc, 3 decreases around (6 sc).
  • ROUND 5: Switch to blue, crochet 1 round of 6 sc.
  • Stuff and close. Sew feet to the base of the body.

Bumps (Make 2)

With yellow yarn:

  • ROUND 1: Magic ring, 6 sc.
  • ROUND 2: 1 increase in each stitch (12 sc).
  • ROUND 3: 1 sc, 1 increase around (18 sc).
  • ROUNDS 4-5: 2 rounds of 18 sc.
  • ROUND 6: 1 sc, 1 decrease around (12 sc).
  • Stuff evenly. Close with decreases.
  • Sew bumps to ROUND 14 of the body.
  • Attach the straps underneath each bump.

Overalls Front (Bib) - Blue

  • Chain 13 (this will be the width of the bib).
Row 1: 12 sc over the chain (skip the first chain).
Rows 2-8: 7 rows of 12 sc (back and forth).
Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Sew the bib to the front of the overalls, just below the straps.

Additional Bib Details:

  • Optional: Add a patch or embroidery detail before sewing. Use felt or contrasting yarn.
  • Position: Center the bib on the Minion's chest.
  • Sewing: Use the long tail to secure it neatly.

Final Touches

  • Mouth: Embroider two stitches below the eyes or a curved smile.
  • Hair: Insert strands of yellow/brown yarn at the top of the head.
  • Accessories (Optional):
    • Overalls patch
    • Eyelashes
    • Glasses
